Picture Related to “War Child”

Dieppe_Canadian_War_Cemetery

I chose this picture because it has a lot of meaning in it. It really relates with the video, War Child, not only because a lot of innocent people were killed but also because during the time it was all about survival and how people had to be strong and fight to survive. A lot of people were killed during this hard time but Emmanuel Jal was a survivor, and that’s what made us realize how hard of a childhood children had to go through and how they lost a lot of people that were really close to them which was really depressing and that probably made the viewers of the video emotional as well. I another reason I chose this picture to relate it to the video was because as you can see it shows how a bunch of people were killed and it relates to war which was also big part in the video.  The picture of the graveyard helps explain that there were several people killed the civil war, but luckily for Emmanuel Jal he was rescued and saved. Sadly for his friends and cousins, that never made it out and became a part of the several that were killed, weren’t rescued in time and that is really depressing not for only the ones they knew but for everyone that saw one of their own being killed.

Quote – Michael Jordan

How many times have your parents told you not to do things, and the next thing  you know, you go do it? And you realized you shouldn’t have done it. – Michael Jordan

This quote has a lot of meaning in my life; I chose this quote because some way or another everyone can relate to it just like I did. This quote is very true, and there are days where even the smartest children tend to question themselves on the things they have done because they feel it is not right. This quote means a lot to me considering the fact I also have these days where I do not listen to my parents. We are at the age where what our parents forbid us from doing we do not like, but they are only doing this for our safety. I can relate clearly to this quote because I have been in situations where I did not listen to my parents when they stopped me from doing something and then in the end I regretted it I realized that I shouldn’t have done it. This quote can motivate children of all ages to consider their actions before doing anything and it can also show kids what their parents say is not always wrong.
